1. Just like in school, plagiarism just won’t be tolerated. There’s really no point in showing something off if you didn’t do it yourself, correct? If you have any questions on what classifies as plagiarism, feel free to visit plagiarism.org.
2. This community is intended for shorter pieces. We don’t want a whole piece of Creative Writing (go here for that!). This community is for snippets of dialogue, several short sentences or a paragraph or two. Shorter monologues. We don’t want to know everything about the piece you’re working on, just parts you are particularly fond of. Why write something in fifty words when you can write it in five and allow the reader to imagine things? We all grow from our imaginations as writers; this is primarily what this community is for and about.
3. Oh please just be nice. Be courteous! This community is not about drama, so I ask that you do not create any. Leave that stuff for high-school.
4. Don’t just post. While we all love to read great writing, we also love to receive comments and constructive criticism. So please help yourself and help others.
5. Stay involved in the community. Don’t go on week-long hiatuses. Stay hip to the themes and whatnot.
6. If you are posting a longer piece, please place it behind an lj-cut. Also, please give a warning if it contains mature content. Small images and thumbnails are acceptable. Be sure to give a description so we know what we are looking at.
7. Sexism, racism, homophobia, and any kind of hate in the slightest form will not be tolerated in this community. I don’t tolerate it in real life, I won’t take it here. This is a constructive creative community, and we ask that you leave your baggage at the door and respect all of our members.
8. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask! If you need criticism or advice or an idea, or anything, go ahead and make a post about it! We're not snobs, and (at the very least) I’ll help you out. Don't be afraid to use AOL Instant Messenger and e-mail to contact us, but don't abuse it. We're people too, you know. If you have any questions about anything, you can check me out and ask me!
